July 21-23, 2014: Glass Lab faculty Helen Lee and lecturer Brad Corso ran a glass workshop with ten young ladies from Girls, Inc., of the Goodman Community Center. The students learned basic neon tube bending and working with various sandblast resists to transfer their drawings into glass. The culmination of their efforts is an illuminated “Girls, Inc.” sign that is now on display at the Goodman Community Center. This workshop was funded by the Arts Institute’s Edna Wiechers Arts in Wisconsin Fund and UW-Madison Art Department’s Board of Visitors Fund.
