Lan Tuazon b. Philippines, 1976. Lives and works in Chicago. Her art practice addresses the order of things as it relates to built and imaginary environments. She has exhibited internationally at the Brooklyn Museum, Storefront for Art & Architecture, Bucharest Biennale 4, the WKV Kunstverein in Germany, Floating IP in Manchester and The Lowry Museum in London, and in New York at the ISE Cultural Foundation, Artist Space, Canada Gallery, Sculpture Center and Apex Art. Lan Tuazon is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the School of Art Institute. Lan lectured for the Art Department Visiting Artist Lecture Series, and extended her stay to experiment in the Glass Lab. She¬†spent her time in the lab cutting glass bottles and grinding them flat in the coldshop, as an extension of her works that incorporated nested, halved “container technologies.”
